Fancy Caught

DoubleDouble is a facet of ijf.name.

I tend to hear a lot of drivel from photographers because they are inherently shallow. Most project descriptions are not unlike talking to the pretty girl across the bar and learning that she tutors mentally retarded children. Then explaining to a friend later that you decided to talk to her because she looked kind natured and then noticed that she was dazzlingly beautiful. Photographers are drawn to a visually stunning event’s face value and then must justify or explain the visuals.

But here Simon Høgsberg has broken the mold. It’s clear through his work, especially for the “Free Advice” project that he is primarily guided by the beauty of the story across the the bar rather than it’s pretty face. I think he has a gift that a lot of photographers (me included) clamber for, and that is his work speaks for itself.

Be sure to backtrack and check out his other projects. We Are All Going To Die is a good one.
