Fancy Caught

DoubleDouble is a facet of ijf.name.

The kiddly-o-pops over at the French design group HELMO (Thomas Couderc & Clement Vauchez) cooked up this family of fashion diptychs back in 2006 but that by no means they aren’t worth mention. There’s all sorts of stuff going on here. The blue and red conjure remembrances of stereoscopic images while the image overlay forces the viewer to compare the human and animal (insect) portraits. Not spoken to in the actual photographs is that this was actually an installation in the French clothing store Galeries Lafayette. Where, presumably, the living models, lit as seen, were viewable through the animal/insect silhouettes. Very cool. via
